When exporting plants and plant products, your shipment must meet the phytosanitary requirements of the destination country. This may involve dealing with import permits.
These country‑specific requirements can be found in the Export Assistant and in e‑CertNL. They specify exactly which conditions must be met for a product to be allowed into a particular country. Some countries also work with import permits. Such permits may contain additional or deviating requirements that are not included in the general country requirements.
When is an IVI – Instruction for Import Permit required
When your destination country requires an import permit, you must check which conditions are included in that permit. If the permit contains requirements that differ from the standard country requirements, an IVI – Instruction for Import Permit is needed in order to apply for a phytosanitary certificate and export your consignment. An IVI specifies which additional or deviating requirements apply. The original requirements are then replaced by the specific import conditions of the importing country.
Na ontvangst van uw aanvraag beoordeel ik eerst inhoudelijk of aan de fytosanitaire eisen uit de invoervergunning kan worden voldaan. Blijkt een IVI nodig te zijn, dan stel ik deze na uw machtiging namens uw bedrijf op in e-CertNL. Zodra de IVI is opgemaakt en akkoord bevonden, ontvangt u een IVI nummer. Met dit IVI nummer kan het fytosanitair certificaat voor uw exportzending op de gebruikelijke manier worden aangevraagd in e-CertNL.
